Rosa Maenza Andrade, 52, is a single mother who has two minor daughters she has to maintain with the incomes of her work as a recycler. Rosa requested assistance from the foundation of philanthropist Alvaro Noboa to buy a sewing machine so she can work from home tailoring clothes. “I am very grateful to God, to the Mr. Noboa and his foundation, because now it will be possible for me to help my children with their studies,” said Rosa.
Another beneficiary was Maria Fanny Ruiz, 54, who will be able to buy candles for her itinerant kiosk in the San Vicente Church, where she works on Sundays and Mondays since 4 years ago. This is the first time she receive assistance from the foundation, and said she felt a little relieved because she will be able to pay her debts, like the rent of her house, where she lives with her disabled daughter and two granddaughters.
